Breakfast of Champions!
Here's my second composition for school. I like this one a lot more and had a much better time completing it compared to my first time. There's some perspective errors and a tangent here or there, but I really liked the feelings I got from looking at it...so much that I didn't pay attention to the mistakes and decide to leave them.
The young boy in the chair was initially going to be in a robot costume but I tried to relate to my life and I loved the ninja turtles growing up and still do.

How can you trust a man who wears both a belt and suspenders? The man can't even trust his own pants.

I just finished watching Once Upon a Time in the West. I started wathcing it a couple of days ago when I saw it on netflix and decided to finish it tonight ..... or should I say this morning. I was inspired to draw some western characters while watching it and here they are. This is my second time watching it and its still as good as the first. One of the things I like about Leone's western films are the soundtrack. Morricone does such a good job at capturing the moment and making it feel that much better.
I tried to stay loose and didn't try to spend a lot of time coloring them either. I like the simple approach to coloring that I used in a previous post and I tried to go for that again. I also tried to draw a girl character, which I rarely do just because I'm so bad at them. They never end up looking sexy or cute, just wierd. The part that I always end up messing up is the face, either the lips or eyes.
Some ideas on paper.

Here are some ideas for a short film I'm planning on doing. I don't want to say too much because quite honestly, I still don't know much myself. I don't really have a story yet, but I definitely know that I want to make a comedy and its going to be about the daguerreotype.

Here's also a blob creature I created. I think its kinda generic, but it was just sitting on my desk, so I thought I might as well post it.
P.S. I drew it on a manilla folder and it didn't scan too well, but the paper was surprisingly very smooth.

"We're Gonna Go Full Stream"
Here are the other two characters from my first composition. The composition was based on a poem by Susan Mitchell, The Dead.
Here is the link to the poem, if you're interested.
Heres the final composition.

Cowabunga, Dude!
Here is a small drawing I did before drawing my new header image. Both pieces are part of a composition I'm doing for my composition class. I remember, as a kid, wearing a Raphael costume that my mom made, it was pretty sweet. I even remember having some make-shift sai that my mom made up too. It amazes me how much time she must have spent making this. I just hope she knows that I loved it.
I hope to create some more Halloween inspired drawings this month.
P.S. I tried to keep both drawings loose because I tend to try to make my drawings so clean that they loose some of their energy and I tend to spend way too much time on them.

"He began to dance and his laughter became a bloodthirsty snarling."
This drawing started out as a young kid set in the 1950s, but he quickly developed a Lord of the Flies-esque personality. I don't think hes very evil, but he definitely doesn't do his chores and if you listen carefully, you can hear the cries of millions of ants, a tell-tale sign of their imminent demise.

Sketch dump vol.1
I've been really busy at school and haven't had much time to draw for fun. I'm working on a couple of illustrations and concept work that I should be able to post soon. Meanwhile, here are some sketches I managed to squeeze in.
